Privileged Prejudice
What is beauty?
It lies not in the eyes of one but in the words they describe beauty to be,those words that are woven into a sentence that would later be adorned by the one who was defined with those words.
But what is beautiful?
Something very subjective and a subject quite superficial.(isn't it)
While some find the flowers beautiful in the garden many find the purpose of the flower beautiful when it lies on a headstone(so it's the perspective of the onlooker or is it?)
But what about the beauty we describe we often describe the one that we eulogize and immortalise, the one that is passed on to us through the ideas as we learn about the world-
Learning from the history .
"History is just a fable agreed upon an account mostly false"-Napoleon Bonaparte
Though we preach about beauty in all forms it is often related to a bodily attribute which seeks for acceptation in the form of body positivity.
Despite heartfelt denials, subconsciously the idea of beauty being superficial has been captured deep within, which eventually builds our judging standard on someone.
But most of the times it's enigma that catches our attention, that makes us appreciate it's uniqueness.
Though the mythology shames women like medusa, deducing that attractive features can trouble one and unattractive features can save one from the trouble and the messed up story of unsurprising injustice, it is the idea of a woman stranded in a island completely broken within yet safeguards herself and her actions in defying the society's ideas of her looks villain-zing her solely because her mystery captivates the seekers, her beheaded corpse later which serves as an amulet to ward off enemies, was far more fascinating than stories of greek god in some mount olympus with his abs out for humans to see, the fascination was about a beauty the way she dared and tragedy she lived was En captured within me as i read through the pages of her story. It wasn't about if she was a victim or a villain but to me right then she was a hero. It was not about her looks that scared men but her willingness to leave everything for something that she seeked which eventually turns upside down yet her beautiful heart had it all to carry it on.Isn't it beauty?
But it is now that we talk about pretty privilege where everything comes to looks,as much as we despise such privilege? Have we ever wondered how it could be a preconceived notion what if every privileged person is a medusa we don't know of ?
Are they really privileged?
Why is it that we hold prejudice against the "privileged"?
If it is truly the beauty that we are against it shall perish in the years that would pass on.
Beautiful :)
